The Unitarian Universalist Church of Hot Springs, 100 Norwalk St, invites you to come and hear Rev. Dr. Bud Hearn deliver a talk on “A Covenant With Mystery.”
He explains, “Our ancestry can be traced back 14 billion years. The how and why are responded to via many hypotheses both in science and religion. Chance? Design? Can we accept that life emerged from non-life via states of trial and error. Recognizing that if it had happened otherwise we would not be talking how and why. Increasingly, science has offered its presuppositions. Religion too has had its say. Yet we are still left with the mystery of ‘it all'”. In reflecting on “it all”, Rev Hearn has come to make a Covenant With Mystery. He shares his thinking in Sunday’s message.
Rebecca Ricks will be at the piano and Ann Hair is the Lay Leader.
At 9:00am, the Wisdom Seeker’s meet to continue discussion of Louise Erdrich’s “The Round House”, a book on contemporary life of Native Americans, followed by refreshments at 10:00am and the service at 10:30am.
