Dr Penny Beed will speak at the Hot Springs Unitarian Universalist Church of Hot Springs Sunday, August 5th 10:30 am. Dr Beed will speak on “If you got 13 percent back on your investments every year, you’d be pretty happy, right?” Remember, the S&P 500, historically, has averaged about 7 percent when adjusted for inflation.
What if the investment is in children, and the return on investment not only makes economic sense but results in richer, fuller, healthier lives for the entire family?”
This quote from a paper by Eric Westervelt supports the crucial importance of early childhood and early literacy home experiences. In Sunday’s talk, Dr. Penny Beed, Hot Springs Village, will give more information about the value of early reading experiences to brain development and will show and discuss a video clip about the Imagination Library of the Ouachitas, a program in which all children ages birth through five are eligible to receive free quality, age-appropriate books in the mail every month. All are welcome.
Join the Religious Exploration group at 9:00 AM as they watch a TED Talk, then discuss it.
