Anaïs Marotte Troadec, a visiting speaker will address the congregation of the Hot Springs Unitarian Universalist Church Sunday, October 22, 10:30am. The title of her presentation is “YOU GO, GIRL!
In a pictorial power point presentation, Ms. Troadec will give an update on the progress women have made world-wide, especially in health, education and civic and political participation in the past few decades. She will introduce steps being taken world-wide to address issues such as child brides, FGM, “women’s work”, and women’s empowerment by governments, civil society and business.
Ms. Troadec has over 30 years experience in the development of civil society, democracy and good governance in the US, Africa and the former Soviet Union with the US government, United Nations and USAID.
Trilingual, with a Master’s degree in Organizational and Industrial Psychology, and diplomas from University of Madrid, Spain and the University of Geneva, Switzerland, Anaïs Troadec has worked in US Latino community, with the United States Agency for International Development, (USAID) and as a leadership specialist with United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
Presently, she is a Winrock International Development volunteer, specializing in gender issues, and has recently returned from cooperative development projects in Bangladesh, Paraguay, Mali and Guinea.
There will be a question and answer period after the presentation.
At 9:00 AM the Wisdom Seekers Group will meet and discuss the current book, which is “A Chosen Faith”.
At 10:00 AM there will be light snacks, coffee and tea.
