The Unitarian Universalist Church of Hot Springs, 100 Norwalk St., welcome member Linda Puckett, this Sunday at 10:30am, to speak on a topic she calls, The Miraculous View. “Having conducted a free and responsible search for truth and meaning on the subject of miracles, I will be presenting thoughts from The Science of Miracles, According To Me. The me, in this case, actually being me. Not to worry, I will reference numerous other opinions on this thought provoking subject which I hope will be of interest to our diverse gathering of members and friends.”
Linda holds an undergraduate degree in Business Management from Phoenix University. She has also obtained a number of certifications and titles over the years, including certification as Life Cycle Celebrant from The Celebrant Institute and Foundation in New Jersey. Celebrants perform all types of non-secular ceremonies, including weddings and memorial services; baby blessings; house blessings and Rites-of-passage. Each ceremony is developed collaboratively by the Celebrant and the client, making each ceremony completely individual, personal and special. Linda studies continuously in The School of Life and has completed many courses toward a graduate degree. One of her most recent courses was Simultaneously Surviving Cancer and the Loss of Your Spouse. Linda stays busy with friends and family, church family, and activities such as kayaking, traveling to familiar and unfamiliar places, leading bunco groups, and serving on the Board of Directors, as Director of Events, for a Hot Springs Village organization called Boomers Rock.
At 9:00am, the Religious Exploration group will continue the study of, “Destiny Disrupted A History of the World Through Islamic Eyes,” by Ansary Tamin. This has proven to be a very interesting and informative study and all are welcome to join whether one has read the book or not.
