Please join us Sunday, July 5th, 10:30 am at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Hot Springs. We will host Robert VanHook, who will speak on “The American Pantheon and Freedom of Religion.” Bob is a great speaker who always delivers a well thought-out message.
We will also celebrate a shortened version of the Flower Communion.
The Flower Communion is an annual ritual that celebrates beauty, human uniqueness, diversity, and community. Originally created in 1923 by Unitarian minister Norbert Capek of Prague, Czechoslovakia, the Flower Ceremony was introduced to the United States by Rev. Maya Capek, Norbert’s widow. Their daughter, Enika Anderson, was an early member of their church and maintained her membership for several years even after she moved to Iowa in 2006. Take a flower to exchange in the service.
