Colonel (Retired) John Nino of our congregation will speak on the topic “Peace – The absence of war?” UUs believe in the inherent worth and dignity of each human being and we are tolerant, democratic and believe in the authority of reason and conscience. The service will be interactive allowing for discussion.
John retired from the Army in March 1995, as a Colonel, after 30 years of service. His last assignment was Senior Emergency Management Liaison Officer at Headquarters, First Army in Atlanta, GA. He was responsible for coordinating with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to provide military support to civil authorities in response to natural disasters and other declared emergencies in the southeastern region of the United States.
John graduated from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor of Arts in History, and later obtained a Masters Degree in Business Administration from The College of William and Mary.
He and his wife have resided in Hot Springs for over seven years.
