May 18 Our Personal Quest for Peace, Dr. Allan Ward, guest speaker

Please join us to hear Dr. Allan Ward speak. His topic is “Our Personal Quest for Peace”. Individuals have their personal quests for inner and outer peace, that they may describe in a variety of ways or may seldom discuss. We will explore these ways and what they share in common and how personal peace relates to peace in society.

Dr. Ward received his Ph.D. from Ohio University. He is a consultant with groups in the commercial, governmental, educational, health-care, non-profit, and religious sectors, serves on seventeen boards, including the UALR Ottenheimer Library, and he holds coordinating positions in a variety of community activities. He has spoken to organizations in Europe, Africa, Asia, and south America.

Beyond The Visible Spectrum_AllanWardDr. Ward studied the relation of individual world views and human behavior, and his book ” Beyond the Visible Spectrum ” includes episodes from those experiences. His novel ” Lucian” follows the title character’s quest for understanding in the life journey of discovery. His intercultural study of mythic trickster figures led to his novel “Trickster “, suggesting what might happen if such a person appeared today, helping people to positively re-frame their experiences to gain new insights.

The Religious Exploration group will continue the discussion of “Situation Ethics- The New Morality”, by Joseph Fletcher, at 9:00am, followed by refreshments at 10:00am.
