Memorial Day Service, Sunday May 26

Memorial Day is about reconciliation; it is about coming together to honor those who gave their all for our nation and the principles for which it stands. This Sunday, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Hot Springs invites you to join us for this time of reflection and gratitude.

Our speaker will be Colonel John R. Nino, who retired from the Army after 30 years of service. In his final military assignment, he coordinated with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to provide military support to civil authorities in response to natural disasters and other declared emergencies in the southeastern region of the United States. Upon retirement, he joined the staff of the Governor of Georgia as Executive Secretary to the Governor’s Military Affairs Coordinating Committee working to prepare Georgia’s 13 installations, representing all the military services, for the 2005 round of Base Realignment and Closure.

John graduated from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor of Arts in History, and later obtained a Masters Degree in Business Administration from The College of William and Mary.
