May 19, 2013 Bud Hearn, guest speaker

Sermon by Rev. Bud Hearn. Guitar music by Kenny Peck. Topic: Un-trivializing the word “Religion”.

How should we understand the word “religion” today? Responses range from: following a set of creeds/dogmas, to it is a personal matter, to indifference. It is Rev. Hearn’s presupposition that religion is not any of the above. In his message he offers that religion is a process that connects one to a sense of ultimate worth, then lived out in the “ordinariness” of life.

Kenny Peck is a popular singer songwriter from Cincinnati, Ohio (and Denise Marion’s brother). He has just released his fourth album, “Country Jack,” with the Smoky Jack Band. His website is http://smokyjackband.com/; go to www.reverbnation.com/smokyjackband to listen to the music.
